vTNC7: The programming system with AI

Create NC programs for HEIDENHAIN controls with the next-generation vTNC7 programming system. In 2.5D applications, this PC software significantly accelerates the programming process for one-off parts and small-batch runs, helping users move faster from initial design to finished parts.

The vTNC7 also supports users with innovative functions such as an AI chatbot for user guidance and the Feature-Based Programming function, which automatically generates NC programs. The new Klartext Converter allows these programs to run on pre-TNC7 HEIDENHAIN controls that lack the required software options.

Meanwhile, new simulation functions are allowing users to examine critical non-cutting movements in detail, thus providing greater confidence in the machining process.

vTNC7: Feature Based Programming

Feature-Based Programming is a new function that generates important NC program sections, including information about geometry, machining operation, machining strategy, machine-specific positioning, and tilting movements.

Users can harness this function to extract the full geometry description of individual elements, including contours and depths, from the CAD data used in 3D models. This extracted data can be enriched and used to automatically generate a Klartext program. Because geometry and strategy information are kept separate, the user can store and reuse information about a given machining operation for different parts.

vTNC7: Klartext Converter

The new Klartext Converter adapts NC programs that have been generated with Feature-Based Programming in vTNC7, allowing these NC programs to run on pre-TNC7 controls that lack the required software options. It can even allow certain TNC7 cycles to run on older controls, thereby ensuring seamless backward compatibility and greater flexibility without additional programming effort.

vTNC7: Simulation functions

By allowing users to rewind and fast-forward the tool and all machine kinematics when simulating the path of the tool center point, the new simulation provided by vTNC7 allows operators to examine critical machine movements. An automatically generated simulation log further simplifies the validation process for generated NC programs, enabling fast and dependable troubleshooting.

Meet HEIDI, the AI assistant for TNC users

AI is about to make TNC users even more efficient and proficient in their daily work. Meet HEIDENHAIN DIGITAL INTELLIGENCE, or HEIDI for short. Recently available only with the vTNC7 programming system, the HEIDI tool is now also available online at www.heidenhain.ai, soon to be unveiled at AMB 2026.

Digital Twin: realistic simulation for reliable production processes

The Digital Twin from HEIDENHAIN is an accurate digital model of your machine. Installed on your programming station, it allows you to create NC programs in the office as if you were standing at the machine. Finished NC programs can be safely tested under simulated machine conditions, allowing you to avoid crashes, program interruptions and machine downtime. Back on the shop floor, you’ll be more productive, set up faster and increase your process reliability.

Machine setup made easy

Our Model Aided Setup (MAS) software option is designed to greatly simplify and accelerate your machine setup process. Its probing functions visually and interactively guide TNC7 users through all setup steps, making this otherwise time-consuming process intuitive even for beginners.

With MAS, raw and semi-finished parts alike can be measured, located, and aligned in six degrees of freedom. Complex parts are also no problem, with MAS even eliminating the need for specialized fixturing in many cases.
