After premiering at EMO Milano two years ago, and being first presented in Germany at AMB 2022, this year the TNC7 is coming to Hannover with even more new features. In addition to the familiar 24-inch version, there will now also be a 19-inch TNC7 with a compact touchscreen but otherwise with all the same functions, as well as the new TNC7 basic with a 16-inch touchscreen for 3+2-axis machines. The TNC7 basic also offers a comprehensive package of options with typical TNC7 features like MAS (graphical 6D setup), DCM (dynamic collision monitoring) and OCM (trochoidal milling). The new software version 18 is heavily influenced by customer feedback. Many functions have been optimized regarding operational ease, practicality and especially process reliability.
Use your resources more efficiently and reduce costs at the same time: HEIDENHAIN offers numerous exciting solutions for this. For example, the TS 460 workpiece touch probe makes it possible to reduce probing times by up to 30%, freeing up valuable productive time for the machinist. In many cases, the LC linear encoders and RCN angle encoders with optimized optics work just fine without any compressed air. This simplifies the sealing air system, thereby reducing system costs as well as the machine's CO2 footprint.
Encoders for each axis ensure process reliability and save costs
Linear and angle encoders from HEIDENHAIN and AMO offer more than highly accurate position measurement for perfect machining results starting with a lot size of just one piece. Thanks to the optimized optics, the new generation of LC and RCN sealed encoders requires less sealing air, thus reducing the CO2 footprint of a machine tool by up to 99%. The new rotational speed sensor from AMO stores the spindle's operating status data, thereby enhancing the diagnostic possibilities for optimal maintenance cycles and a longer operational lifetime.
The new MSY motors from HEIDENHAIN are an attractive solution for auxiliary and feed axes on machine tools designed for mid-range to high performance. Their compact form factor makes these motors ideal for applications with rigorous space constraints. Featuring the ideal speed stability typical of HEIDENHAIN motors, the MSY solutions ensure high workpiece surface quality during machining. Contributing to this is the latest generation of HEIDENHAIN encoder technology used in the MSY motors. It goes without saying that MSY motors are perfectly matched to other HEIDENHAIN machine tool components, including CNC controls. And thanks to a purely serial communication architecture, these motors couldn’t be easier to install and connect.
The LB 383C sealed linear encoder from HEIDENHAIN is the new specialist for position measurement on machines with long axes. Its scanning unit is particularly tolerant to contamination and at the same time is very rigid in the measuring direction, thereby ensuring better process reliability and machine performance. The LB 383C also saves money, since its profiles are adapted to those of the LC 200 linear encoders. This not only reduces the amount of stock you need, but also obviates the need for special connecting pieces for compressed air.
Monitor tools and workpieces during the process, gain valuable productive time
Touch probes for tools and for workpieces, the VT 121 vision system for tool inspection as with the human eye, and the new TD 110 tool breakage detector – not only do these solutions from HEIDENHAIN increase process reliability in your production department, but the automated and time-saving in-process inspection in the work envelope also frees up valuable productive time for you. For example, how about 30% faster probing times with the TS 460?

OCM: always mill with optimal cutting data
Optimized Contour Milling (OCM) gives you nearly unlimited trochoidal milling possibilities. After you’ve defined the contour, the control automatically calculates the best trochoidal milling strategy, letting you apply this highly efficient milling process to a much wider range of workpieces for greater productivity and less tool wear.
Designed for machine tools: highly-dynamic motors from HEIDENHAIN and ETEL
Motors have a major impact on the accuracy and surface quality of machine tools. Key criteria include the motor’s maximum torque, the torque ripple, and the inertia ratio between the motor and its load, all of which are particularly well-matched in the motors of HEIDENHAIN and ETEL.
METRO and SPECTO, the new generation of length gauges
A new generation of length gauges is premiering at EMO 2023. The METRO and SPECTO gauges have not just been redesigned: they are now presented under our NUMERIK JENA brand. The specialists for very small measuring devices in the HEIDENHAIN Corporate Group have completely redesigned this platform of length gauges, adding all of their core competence in component miniaturization. The new length gauges are much slimmer, which results in a significantly reduced station width. This offers many possibilities when planning multi-gauging fixtures, such as an increased number of measuring points.
The Digital Shop Floor: solutions for greater efficiency, transparency and reliability
The Digital Shop Floor from HEIDENHAIN bundles hardware, software, consulting, and services for digitalizing your entire production operation. These solutions can be combined as needed and don’t require cloud computing. Based on HEIDENHAIN expertise in shopfloor processes, the Digital Shop Floor gives small to medium-sized companies a digital 360° view of their processes, from initial quoting to quality control and shipment.
StateMonitor: transparent production processes, increased productivity
The StateMonitor software from HEIDENHAIN delivers a real-time window into the production status of your machine tools. It collects and intuitively displays data from your machines on your PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone. Acquiring machine data through StateMonitor gives you valuable data for evaluating key metrics and program run-times as well as deriving potential for optimizing your production processes.
PlantMonitor: Combine and analyze machines and multiple instances of StateMonitor
PlantMonitor is the new solution from the Digital Shop Floor at HEIDENHAIN for companies that already use multiple instances of StateMonitor and would like to consolidate and analyze data from multiple production areas in one place. Now machines situated in different production halls or even at completely different locations can also be networked. The machine data coming from a much larger range of machines forms the solid foundation for making decisions, reacting to changes and implementing enduring process improvements.
Digital Twin: realistic simulation for reliable production processes
The Digital Twin from HEIDENHAIN is a realistic model of a machine tool for use on your programming station. Live demonstrations will showcase the user-friendly and powerful interplay of the Digital Twin, StateMonitor, and OCM within a digital process chain. The moderators will use a Digital Twin to program a workpiece, upload it online to the new control, start the program via StateMonitor, and machine the part with OCM.
